The Carbon Saver Standard™ provides a unique tiered approach to rewarding organisations for their efforts to reduce carbon. With Bronze, Silver and Gold levels of certification there is a solution for all sizes or organisation and all budgets.
This allows organisations who are starting their carbon reduction journey to cost effectively certify to Bronze standard. Over time they can then upgrade to Silver or Gold depending on their customers or stakeholders needs.Â
Bronze, Silver & Gold Standards
The rules and methodology for achieving the standard are the same for Bronze, Silver and Gold. The difference is the level of assurance or third party verification/audit.
This proportional approach is unique, cost effective and allows all sizes of organisation to be on the same playing field, measuring and reporting carbon emissions in the same way. This also provides a useful, common foundation for wider carbon savings through the supply chain.
Standard
Level of Assurance / Verification
Self Certification - At Bronze level organisations 'self-certify' their carbon emissions. They are required to maintain an evidence pack to back up and 'evidence' their claims.
Bronze certification is subject to a 10% risk based audit
Evidence Pack Certification - At Silver level organisations are required to submit their evidence pack. This is reviewed and checked by an independent assessor and certification issued as appropriate.
Silver certification is subject to a 25% risk based audit
Site Visit Certification - At Gold level organisations submit their evidence pack. This is reviewed and checked by an independent assessor and site visits are completed to verify claims. Certification is issued as appropriate.
Gold certification is subject to a 100% risk based audit
